John T. Maxwell FCPA FPS (Chairman)
Independent, Non-Executive Director since 1975.

Mr Maxwell was the senior partner in the accounting firm Maxwell & Cameron Pty Ltd, Certified Practising Accountants until May 2006. Mr Maxwell has practised as an accountant in Rockhampton for the past 35 years. He has been a Director of The Rock since 1975 and its first General Manager. He was appointed to the role of Chairman in November 2007.

Bradford V.R. Beasley LL.B. (Hons)
Non-Executive Director since 1999.

Mr Beasley is a partner of the Rockhampton firm of Solicitors, South & Geldard, and has acted as Solicitor to The Rock Building Society Limited for over 20 years. Mr Beasley is Chairman of The Rock's Credit Committee and is also a trustee of the Rockhampton Grammar School. 

John W. Wedderburn BA MCom
Independent, Non-Executive Director since 2004.

Mr Wedderburn has extensive business experience, particularly in the general insurance industry, having held senior positions with AMP and QBE Insurance in Brisbane and Sydney. He is a director of companies in Adelaide and the Sunshine Coast and conducts his own consultancy business in the areas of marketing and business planning.

Ian J. Johnston

DipCM, Grad Dip Applied Finance and Investment, ASIA, ACIS, FAICD

Non-Executive Director since 2006.

Mr Johnston holds qualifications in Management and Finance and is an Associate of the Securities Institute of Australia, an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Company Secretaries, and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.  He attended Oxford Advanced Management Programme ("AMP") at Templeton College, University of Oxford in 1987.  In 2004, he completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course.

Mr Johnston is an executive of ABN AMRO Morgans Limited and a member of its advisory board. Other Directorships include AAM Foundation Limited, Cardno Limited and Symbiosis Group Limited.

Mr Johnston is Chairman of The Rock's Audit Committee.

Derek Lightfoot

Managing Director

Mr Lightfoot joined The Rock in February 2005 as Chief Financial Officer and was appointed as Chief Executive Officer in June 2006. He was then appointed to the role of Managing Director in November 2007. Previous to Mr Lightfoot's appointments with The Rock, he accrued 10 years’ experience with KPMG in Brisbane and London, specialising in the banking and finance industry. Mr Lightfoot also spent eight years with the Bank of Queensland in senior management positions including Internal Computer Auditor, Head of Operations, Head of Information Technology and Head of Business Services.  Mr Lightfoot's most recent position before taking up his role with The Rock was with Brisbane City Council as Executive Manager Customer Service.

Mr Lightfoot holds a Bachelor of Commerce, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
